Future-Proofed with 4K Video Upscaling and HDMI 2.0
The Yamaha RX-V777 is one of the very first AV receivers to offer HDMI 2.0 standard sockets. HDMI 2.0 is an enhanced version of HDMI using the same connection but offering many technical advantages. These include the ability to handle 50/60 frames per second from 4K signals, 18-bit colour, 32 channel surround sound, plus much more. In conjunction with this new standard of HDMI, the RXV777 also offers 4K upscaling. Offering four times the resolution of 1080p, 4K or, Ultra HD, offers greater realism than ever. With 4K TVs far more readily available this year, by equipping this Yamaha AV receiver with 4K upscaling, Yamaha have engineered in comprehensive levels of future proofing. In the meantime you can also upscale signals to 1080p for the best image quality with Full HD TVs and projectors. The HDMI sockets also allow 4K pass-through, for hassle free switching and viewing without the receiver needing to be turned on.
Exceptional Sound Quality
The Yamaha RX-V777 makes the most of Yamaha's Total Purity Concept for the most natural sound quality possible. Combining high drive amp technology, high purity pre-amplification, anti-vibration construction and independent power supplies, the RXV777 offers a remarkably pure and precise sound quality. With power at 95 watts per channel, the RXV777 really comes into its own when used in larger rooms or with more demanding speakers. The extra power over lower models also improves the bass extension and dynamic reach of the sound, too.
Advanced Networking, including Airplay and WiFi and DNLA
Built-in Apple Airplay means that you can stream music from your Apple iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad or other compatible Apple device, wirelessly! Furthermore, you can view data such as song title, artist name as well as album art* via the AV receiver’s on-screen display. *Some models don't support album art display. If you use an HTC smartphone you can make use of the standard HTC Connect; letting you wirelessly stream music from your device.
With a DLNA certified LAN connection, it's easy to hook up to your home network hub. From here you can access your stored music from PC, laptop or NAS drive and also listen to Internet radio stations and music services. Another great feature is the downloadable Apple or Android app that lets you control many of the receiver's functions from your smartphone, iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad or tablet. Now featuring Wi-Fi connectivity, it's easier than ever to connect up to your home network.
Full Range of Input and Output options including Twin HDMI and Phono Pre-Amp
The Yamaha RXV777 features twin HDMI outputs. Ideal if you run both a projector and TV or simply have a second screen in another room, the twin outputs greatly enhance the receiver's flexibility. There's also a front-mounted HDMI socket with MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link). This lets you hook up suitable mobile phones and tablets and enjoy video playback, via HDMI at up to Full HD 1080p resolution. This is the first model in Yamaha's RX-V77 line-up to receive a phono stage and pre-amp outputs. The phono stage lets you connect up a turntable while the pre-amp output allows the use of a larger/higher quality power amp at a later date. Both features enhance the RXV775's credibility as an amp that's just as impressive with music as it is with movies.
Twin subwoofer outputs let you connect two subs in the room for a more balanced bass response and also the opportunity to use smaller but faster sounding subs without sacrificing the ultimate bass depth. If you have an iPod/iPhone or MP3 player, you'll appreciate the front panel mounted USB, too. By connecting to the USB, you'll benefit from a digital connection. This gives a direct signal and, hence, purer sound quality than using a conventional dock or analogue input. Plus it also charges your iPod/iPhone, too! Finally, the RX-V777 also features a comprehensive Zone 2 output. This includes the Zone 2 HDMI output for video in another room (same video source as main only) plus a Party Mode for music around your home.
Easy Setup with Yamaha Multi-Point YPAO-R.S.C.
Multi-point YPAO-R.S.C. (Reflected Sound Control) is an upgraded Automatic System Calibration that uses sophisticated equalisation to set the best sound for your room where ever your speakers are placed. It employs Reflected Sound Control and multi-point measuring to correct early reflections for studio-quality sound. It also provides DSP Effect Normalization, which varies the CINEMA DSP parameters according to the reflected sounds. There's also an advanced GUI (Graphical User Interface) display that makes it easy to adjust settings using an onscreen display.
